It uses a single type of dry sand and seals the mold cavity surface and backside with plastic film. By using a vacuum pump to evacuate air and create negative pressure, a pressure difference is generated between the inside and outside of the sand mold, causing the sand to compact and form the mold cavity. This process is a type of physical molding method.
